Catherine Pennec gallery and Arts coordinator Chloé Guillas, show two painters artists : A woman, Cynthia Pedrosa, and a man, Ivan de la Rionda, come together to share a common dialogue that brings together the figurative and the abstract.

The exhibition Tea or Coffee? , invites sharing, hospitality, and encounter. For it is indeed through tea or coffee, or a gesture, a look, a handshake, a bow, a word... that we have always made acquaintances. It is a sharing that initiates conversation and symbolizes meeting. This is the essence of this contemporary art exhibition.

Despite their unique creative approaches, Cynthia Pedrosa and Ivan de la Rionda are brought together through their relationship with artistic creation and their respective journeys, which have each placed them at some point in their lives in the position of host or guest.

Their respective works and techniques reveal aspects that invite reflection. Constructing an image indeed involves awakening the inner world's physiognomy of the artist, who lets this inner world escape through their work.

What brings Cynthia and Ivan together is their direct and simple approach to pictorial language. A language that allows the spectator to feel invited and engaged in their perception and interpretation. This journey alongside the artwork belongs to the spectator. And just as the observer welcomes and appropriates the artist's work, the artist welcomes the observer's free interpretation, even when the painting depicts a life scene.

It is a form of mutual letting go in respect for the other's intentions and uniqueness.

Cynthia PEDROSA (1976 - ) A Franco-Portuguese artist living in Paris. Trained through the practice of life models, working on the volumes of the human figure, she then became a student of the Breton painter Philippe Bossard. He trained her in oil painting for about fifteen years. Alongside her painting practice, she worked for about fifteen years as an educator with adults facing social difficulties.

Ivan de la RIONDA (1966 - ) A Cuban painter, welcomed in Europe and naturalized Spanish for over 20 years, he has been working in his studio in Brittany for the past 5 years. Trained and graduated from the University of Fine Arts of Havana, he works in all mediums and formats: oil, acrylic, pastel, ink. The gesture is at the heart of his work: fluid, rapid, impulsive, lines, shadows, and colors take shape. His pictorial journey over the years has led him from figurative to abstract. A line increasingly refined and expressive, devoid of concessions, facilitates immediate communication. To this end, he throws himself into the void in search of the essential, which is nothing other than the disappearance of the visible. The object is replaced by forms that suggest a metaphorical message.
