Marjolaine Turpin's work takes place in a space of fragility that she constructs, nourishes and attempts to stabilize. The conditions it puts in place give forms the opportunity to move, to compose an encapsulated territory where materials are mobilized and transform, act, sometimes at the limit of the visible. The works seem not to want to stay still, they move, slowly. Her obsession with making what she captures and puts back into production persist plays with the slow processes of material reactions, like living relationships, always destined to evolve. Observing the behavior of materials sometimes leads forms to find a function. To understand, you have to play again. Thus, for her exhibition at Angle contemporary art, Marjolaine therefore chooses to explore the reactions on the margins, the cracks, like echoes of what is elsewhere or is no longer.

Biography : Born in 1991, Marjolaine Turpin lives and works in Clermont-Ferrand, where she is part of the Les Ateliers association. After obtaining her DNSEP at ESACM in 2015, she collaborated with the IAC Villeurbanne / Rhône Alpes, the CAC le Parc Saint-léger or the Martell Foundation for exhibitions or residencies. More recently, she participated in the exhibition Penser comme une montagne at the contemporary art center Le Creux de l'Enfer at Château de Goutelas, and is preparing two personal exhibitions at Home Alone as well as at Angle art contemporain. Marjolaine is also developing with Marion Chambinaud a research and creation project around glass for which they are preparing two exhibitions in 2024, at Creux de l'Enfer and La Chapelle Jeanne d'Arc.
