Born 1985 in Bogotá, Colombia.
Lives and works in Paris, France.

After gathering archival images, Daniel Otero Torres’ work spreads from an assemblage of these eclectic sources using a broad spectrum of media and materials – drawings, sculpture, photographs, wallpaper. The artist explores the links between the sacred and profane, between vernacular cultures and planetary thought, and between private recollections and collective memory. He draws parallels between pre- Colombian legends, contemporary events and personal experiences. His installation – based on the stray dog, a central motif in various narratives worldwide – imagines alternative narratives about marginal figures and initiates alternative strategies of resistance and resilience.

Also on view at the Fagor factories.
