Symbiotes is a group exhibition of the resident artists and designers of Espace Montebello. It will be an exhibition in windows. Conceived in collaboration with the merchants, it will start at Espace Montebello and will be visible in their storefronts all along the street. Thus, clothing stores, dairies, pharmacies, and others will become the hosts of this event.

We have chosen to approach fragility through the plastic dimension of the exhibited objects, as well as through the scenography conceived for the exhibition, based on the culture of mycelium. Mycelium is the root system of fungi, which only develops in secret. When properly cultivated, it can become a solid and biodegradable material. The scenography will thus be made of a living material, which will have to grow and be maintained. Fragility will therefore be the very framework of our programming. It is also the heart of it. The artists and designers of the Espace Montebello are emerging actors of the Lyon and national cultural scene. Our fragility is expressed by our precariousness. The shopkeepers hosting the works also participate in this context. The recent events, linked to the health context, but also the historical and known context of the Guillotière district make them the most obvious examples of the fragility of Lyon's socio-economic fabric. Symbiotes is not only thought as an exhibition but as a collaboration, a dialogue, on the scale of a street, and of those who live there.
