Bâtiment Domus, campus La Doua 31 avenue Pierre de Coubertin,
69100 Villeurbanne

Founded twenty years ago at the Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University by a group of university staff, the Domus Gallery is dedicated to photography and contemporary art. It is located at the heart of the La Doua Campus in Villeurbanne.

The programme alternates between emerging and more established artists. It is not linked to any particular artistic movement, but aims to reflect the diversity of contemporary photographers' work.

The programme is overseen by a steering committee made up of staff from the University and the Cultural Mission Project, guided by a curator Françoise Lonardoni, who is also an art critic and head of cultural services at the Musée d'Art Contemporain de Lyon.

The gallery also hosts amateur exhibitions as part of the Les Arthémiades festival, a festival of the university's artistic practice workshops, where the drawing, painting and comic strip workshops exhibit, as well as the Tremplin Arty competition, a visual arts competition that rewards two winners from the university.

Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University has a particularly dynamic cultural policy. It offers a rich and varied programme to its students and staff, as well as to the city as a whole, thanks to its exceptional openness to the city of Villeurbanne and the Lyon metropolitan area.
