For this augmented, site-specific recreation in the former SNCF maintenance center — now transformed into Les Grandes Locos — Crowd brings together 18 dancers, each embodying their own character and story.
Caught in the swirling currents of this rave party, the bodies move through various physical and emotional states, driven by a soundscape curated by Peter Rehberg and Gisèle Vienne. The soundtrack spans the history of electronic music, giving a special place to Detroit techno and the Underground Resistance collective. Crowd is a sensory experience where time is stretched and redefined by the performers’ movements: slow motion, jolts, freezes, and loops generate striking images, constantly reshaping the arrangement of bodies, temporalities, and narratives. While leaving the audience a decisive role in how they perceive and experience the piece, the choreographer offers a vision of the party as an alternative space — a place to dance, to explore, to connect, and to live with a little more intensity.
