Performance and talk with the artist MBAYE DIOP
Mbaye Diop (b. 1981, Richard Toll, Senegal), a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Dakar and former visual arts teacher in Saint Louis, is currently pursuing a master's degree in contemporary art practice at the Head School of Geneva in Switzerland. His practice is interdisciplinary, using the medium of performance, video, installation and drawing. His artistic research stems from his observations of everyday urban scenes, the traditions practiced in his native country, as well as the collective phenomenon and personal experience of emigration. Her works also address paradigm shifts in African societies, namely the dichotomy encountered between new technologies and traditions, virtual realities and African customs.
