The Old City of Lyon, a land of welcome and hospitality, at the heart of Lyon's historic site on the right bank of the Saône, has been a land of welcome since the beginning of its history (foundation of the Roman city of Lugdunum on the hill of Fourvière in 43 BC), and open to the world

Nicolas Badout was born in Lyon in 1992. A qualified architect, Nicolas studied applied arts in Lyon, where he became an illustrator, screen printer, street artist and architect. His preferred technique is drawing with a brush, Indian ink or acrylic. He has illustrated a novel by Ken Kesey (an American author best known for his "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"), and sometimes he has a great idea in which a family of Oregon lumberjacks incur the wrath of unionized workers in the town of Waconda... published by Monsieur Toussaint Louverture, which inspired his latest installation at the AiRT de famille 2024 art festival in Lyon. Nicolas Badout creates meticulous graphic universes, playing with chiaroscuro and exploring the boundary between the real and the imaginary. Inspired by literature and current events, he captures a world in perpetual motion. Medium: Acrylic paint and felt-tip pen Technique: Fresco and drawing
