The exhibition "SILLAGE " brings together the visual artists : Gaston and Cécilie. In the Menuiserie, at Solid'arte, they present their perceptions of FRAGILITY.
Gaston's "Mytilida Exosquelette" is a meticulous weaving of linen threads and mussel shells, sanded, pierced and then assembled together. It manifests the embodiment of a vulnerable and brittle element like glass, more solid and resistant with its fellow creatures. FRAGILITY is transformed into strength.
Cécilie plays with and seizes illusions to manifest a way of being in the world and of protecting herself from it. She invents, draws, cuts and weaves, mixing the "forged" with the "real", using materials that a child would use. From fake materials to real representations, from plastic to thread, her work manifests the poetry of a shifted vision.
